This field trip program is designed to provide campers with an immersive and educational experience, blending outdoor exploration, stargazing, and hands-on engineering activities. Campers will also uncover Central Florida, a hidden gem! The unique mix of wetlands, woodlands, and even some rolling hills creates a diverse environment. From the majestic oak trees to the critters like the Florida scrub-jay there’s so much to discover!

DAY 1

Astronomy Night Sky Observation

Evening:

  • Introduction to basic astronomy concepts and constellations
  • Star map crafting activity
  • Nighttime hike for a unique perspective on the natural world

Night:

  • Telescope observation session with astronomy experts
  • Campfire astronomy stories

DAY 2

Nature Immersion

Morning:

  • Guided nature hike through Camp Geneva
  • Identification of native flora and fauna
  • Nature scavenger hunt

Afternoon:

  • Outdoor team-building activities
  • Educational session on local ecosystems and conservation efforts
  • Campfire storytelling and stargazing introduction

DAY 3

Engineering Challenge Day

Morning:

  • Workshop on basic engineering principles
  • Team-building games to enhance problem-solving skills
  • Introduction to simple machines and their application

Afternoon:

  • Hands-on engineering challenges (build bridges, create water rockets, etc.)
  • Engineering project showcase and group presentations
  • Reflection session on the engineering process

DAY 4

Closing and Reflection

  • Closing ceremony with certificates of participation
